NCA All-Star Nationals, the largest event in competitive cheerleading, will shift its location from Dallas to Houston beginning in 2026. This move brings the event to the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Toyota Center through 2028, with NCA aiming to recreate the renowned Dallas arena atmosphere within the Toyota Center. The relocation will enable the competition to continue its traditional end-of-February dates despite ongoing construction at Dallas’ Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

This relocation was announced earlier in the year after initial plans to hold the 2026 event in Dallas from January 9-11 were adjusted. The move to Houston allows the championship to stay on its traditional February dates. NCA officials confirmed that the event will run in Houston through 2028, after which it intends to return to Dallas.

NCA All-Star Nationals has consistently broken participation records, with 1,564 teams competing in 2024, surpassing the previous year’s 1,405 teams. As Varsity approaches the 30-year anniversary of NCA All-Star Nationals, the company emphasized the need for a venue that could accommodate the growing scale and logistical demands of the event.

NCA’s Justin Carrier released a statement highlighting the careful planning behind this decision:

“We want to update everyone that NCA All-Star Nationals, one of the most anticipated events in the world of cheerleading, will be moving to the George R. Brown Convention Center and Toyota Center in Houston, Texas in 2026, 2027, and 2028.”

John Newby, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Camp and Event Operations for Varsity Spirit, also shared the company’s ongoing commitment to Texas and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, stating:

“We are excited about the revitalization project in Dallas and the benefits it will bring to sports like cheer in the metroplex. Varsity Brands and Varsity Spirit are committed to maintaining a strong presence in Dallas, and we’re pleased to keep these impactful events in Texas.”

As part of broader planning, Varsity also announced that the 2026 NCA High School Nationals will be held at the Fort Worth Convention Center from January 23-26 and will continue there through 2028. For the 2025 season, NCA High School Nationals will remain at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, running January 24-26, 2025.
