SAVANNAH, Ga. โ€” Cheer Extreme Savannah has announced it will close its doors effective June 26, citing insufficient athlete participation to sustain operations.

In a statement shared on social media Wednesday, the program said the decision followed months of effort to grow the gym while maintaining a positive and competitive environment for athletes.

“Unfortunately, we have not received the level of athlete commitment necessary to sustainably operate the program moving forward,” the statement read.

The closure marks the end of Cheer Extreme’s Savannah location, which served athletes in the Coastal Georgia region as part of the broader Cheer Extreme Allstars organization.

According to the announcement, gym leadership described the decision as one that “was not made lightly” and thanked athletes, parents, coaches, and supporters who helped build the program over the years.

“We are proud of the memories, friendships, and accomplishments that were created within our gym and will always be thankful for the opportunity to serve the Savannah cheer community,” the organization said.

While the location is closing, the program emphasized its continued support for athletes as they pursue future opportunities elsewhere.

The announcement comes as All Star cheer programs across the country continue to navigate challenges related to athlete retention, rising operational costs, and increasingly competitive local markets.

No additional details were provided regarding athlete placement options or whether any programs will be absorbed by other Cheer Extreme locations.
