The University of Memphis Cheerleading program has announced the addition of two new head coaches: Jasmine Freeman and Kaleb Newell. This dynamic duo brings extensive experience and passion to the program, promising to elevate the team’s performance.
Jasmine Freeman, a University of Memphis Cheerleading alumnus, competed on the coed squad from 2012 to 2015 and secured a national championship in 2013. Her cheerleading journey continued as she represented the USA on the coed cheerleading team in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2018. With a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis, Jasmine has dedicated the last 12 years to coaching cheerleading full-time in Memphis. Currently, she serves as the All Star Director at Memphis Pride Cheer and the Head Cheer Coach at Desoto Central Middle School.
Jasmine expressed her excitement, stating, “It is an immense privilege to give back to the University of Memphis Cheerleading program, which played an instrumental role in shaping my life and career. Cheering for the University of Memphis ignited my love for the city and its people. I eagerly look forward to contributing to the program that has given me so much.”
