NBC is putting cheerleading in the spotlight with Stumble, a new scripted comedy set in the high-pressure world of junior college cheer. Premiering November 7, 2025, the series follows a driven, complicated coach and a mismatched squad on a chaotic quest for their 15th national title.
The show was created by Liz Astrof (2 Broke Girls, The Conners) and is executive produced by Monica Aldama, the famed coach from Netflix’s Cheer, alongside cheer choreographer Dahlston Delgado. Filming for the pilot took place in Atlanta, while the rest of Season One is filming in New York City through December 2025.
Real cheerleaders Kory Little, Tatiyahna Davis, Zach LeMunyon, AJ Blankenship, and Hailey Smith are part of the cast, bringing authentic athleticism and stunts to screen.
What Is “Stumble” About?
Set at fictional Headltston State Junior College, Stumble centers on Coach Courteney Potter, played by Jenn Lyon, who’s determined to cement her legacy by securing a record-breaking 15th national championship. But when she’s abruptly fired after a party scandal involving her former team, Courteney must start over with a new school and a crew of unpredictable underdogs.
The show dives into both the competitive reality and behind-the-scenes absurdity of collegiate cheer, tackling everything from injuries and pyramid fails to team rivalries and redemption arcs—all through a fast-paced, character-driven mockumentary format.
