AMARILLO, Texas — Redline Championships is adding two performance-based divisions to its All Star cheer lineup for the 2026-27 season.
The new Junior Select Performance Division and Senior Select Performance Division will give teams an opportunity to compete in a format that places greater emphasis on execution, choreography, creativity, synchronization, showmanship and overall routine impact.

The Junior division will be open to athletes ages 14 and younger. The Senior division will include athletes ages 10 to 18.

Unlike traditional level-based divisions, the Select Performance divisions will not include a required skill-level classification or mandatory tumbling and stunt elements. Coaches and choreographers will have the freedom to build routines around the individual strengths of their athletes and teams.

“All-Star cheer has evolved into one of the most dynamic performance sports in the world,” said Kevin Jones, Production and Brand Strategy Director for Redline Championships. “We believe there should be opportunities for teams to be recognized not only for the skills they perform, but for how they perform.”

Rather than making difficulty the primary measure of a routine, the new divisions will evaluate how effectively teams execute and present the skills they choose to perform.

“The Junior Select and Senior Select Performance Divisions celebrate the complete athlete and the complete performance, while giving coaches and choreographers greater creative freedom to design routines that fit their teams,” Jones said.

The divisions will complement Redline’s existing All Star cheer divisions and provide programs with another competitive option. Teams can develop routines that showcase their strongest performance qualities without building around prescribed tumbling or stunt requirements.

“At Redline Championships, we’ve always believed that innovation drives the future of our sport,” Jones said. “These new divisions are about expanding opportunities, encouraging creativity and celebrating the teams that leave a lasting impression every time they step onto the floor.”

The Junior Select and Senior Select Performance Divisions will debut at Texas Grand Nationals on Sunday, March 7, 2027, at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

Additional information about the divisions and Redline’s upcoming competition schedule is available on the Redline Championships events page.
