The Open Championship Series (OCS) has implemented three significant changes to the Allstar World Championship (ASWC) bid process for the 2025–2026 season. These updates shift control to individual Event Producers (EPs) and modify how bids are declared, intent is submitted, and Paid Bids are confirmed.

As of the latest official update from August 4, over 50 Event Producers are set to distribute 375 full paid cheer bids, 36 full paid dance bids, 3,007 at-large cheer bids, and 1,650 at-large dance bids. These totals do not include Battle Round entries.

According to Tres LeTard, Director of Operations for The Open Championship Series, the updates are intended to improve transparency and accessibility across the competitive landscape. “In close collaboration with our incredible Event Producer Partners, we are focused on expanding competitive opportunities and accessibility for gyms and teams of all sizes and ability levels. This new bid policy is designed to reinforce this mission and help more teams accomplish their goal of competing at the Allstar World Championship,” LeTard said.

Event Producers Can Now Set Custom Bid Declarations

Event Producers are no longer required to follow a universal bid declaration. Each EP can now submit a custom version for approval by The Open and must publish it publicly. While The Open still offers a base format, EPs may alter criteria such as how bids are awarded, placement priorities, or additional eligibility requirements. As a result, bid policies may vary across events.

Bid Intent Must Be Submitted Directly to Each Event Producer

Previously, bid intent was submitted through a centralized form maintained by The Open. Starting this season, teams must now submit intent separately to each Event Producer prior to each event. Intent will not carry over between competitions or be tracked by The Open. If a team fails to submit intent to the EP, it will not be eligible for a bid at that event—even if placement would otherwise qualify.

Teams awarded a Paid Bid must now complete registration through RegChamp within seven calendar days of the event’s official bid reveal. These reveals typically occur the Tuesday after the event. If a team misses the deadline, the Event Producer will reassign the bid to the next eligible team on their intent list, who will then have seven days to accept. This process repeats until the bid is confirmed.

These structural changes are now in effect for the 2025–2026 season and apply to all ASWC-sanctioned events under The Open.
